Photos taken in Kathmandu Durbar Square in February 2016, ten months after the April 2015 Gorka Earthquake which devastated Nepal. The earthquake caused severe damage and loss of life in Kathmandu, Nepal’s capital city. Damage is still quite visible in the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square.
This is a photo supplement to my Nepal narrative. You can read my chapter on Kathmandu Durbar Square here, start from the beginning if you want to learn more about Nepal, or just enjoy the pictures!

LANGTANG VALLEY TREK GUIDE / ITINERARY / PACKAGE / COST
“Amazing Langtang trek with the best Trekking guide in Nepal!!”
I came to Nepal knowing I wanted to do some trekking in Langtang but was not sure if it would be possible or not. I did some research beforehand and all suggested that Langtang trekking route was not yet open due to earthquake consequences…
Lucky me I came to just the right person. Sanjib is the best of the best. I can guarantee that you can hardly find a more knowledgeable (yet humble)/attentive/thoughtful/experienced/professional (yet entertaining at the same time: D)/passionate guide in Nepal than him. Sanjib and his brother – NJ made me feel very much at home right when I stepped into their office. They helped me plan out my trip and went out of their way to make it safest/ most enjoyable possible. I had an amazing 8 day trip to Langtang with unforgettable memories. I cannot recommend enough these people. They are the best at what they do not only because of their knowledge and experience but also the love for their wonderful country.
And to all of you guys who are still hesitating about whether or not Langtang is now safe for trekking. I can confirm that it is!!! Please consider Langtang as you can help the local people there by using their services on trekking route!!

We visited Durban Square about 15 years ago and have happy memories. Sad to see it like this. Thanks for visiting the Glasgow Gallivanter.
Brings back memories!
Great article on a city that’s recovering from devastation!
