Chefchaoen, Morocco, has become a famous place on Instagram thanks to its overwhelming blue hue. While Chefchaoen (or just Chaoen, as it’s sometimes called) is famous for the blue walls, the city also has another unique characteristic.
It’s full of adorable cats.

The Cats of Chefchaoen

There are endless shades of blue inside Chefchaoen’s medina (old city)

Blue tiles, blue walls, blue doors…

They say the blue walls help keep the city cool, allowing for nice midday naps.

Many tourists come to the city, so of course there are many merchants happy to sell you something…

And plenty of cats begging for your leftovers

The cats of Chefcahoen aren’t shy…

And neither are the locals

I’m not the only one who found the cats charming…

And you have to admit… they’re pretty dang cute

They’ll hang out anywhere they can catch a bit of shade in this sweltering heat

Make sure to look up!

At night, you can find them scavenging around trash cans

But during the day, they tend to relax
