Hello Dan,
Thank you for sharing your content. I read your article about standby tickets and I’m wondering if you ever had issues getting into the US/any other country with a one way ticket? When they ask you for a return ticket, how do you show proof that you will go standby (if you can’t get access of the boarding pass yet)? I’m asking because a friend is planning on doing these but doesn’t want trouble.
Thank you!
Hi Dan, I’m not sure how else to contact you so I’m trying here. I am making a short film about Honnold and Caldwell RMNP link up and see you shared the Diamond with them back in summer ’20. I am interested to see any photos or footage of these dudes you may have from the wall. Can you give me a shout? Thank you
Zac

As always love your posts… truly an inspiration to many! I couldn’t find a “contact” link to send you this message via PM or email so I’m dropping it here… just a bit of unsolicited climbing advice ๐ FYI those quick-draws should have gates facing the same way, both the bolt biner’ and the rope biner’. Lots of threads out there but the consensus backed by research from Petzl proves when the bolt biner’ doesn’t face away from intended direction of travel it is more likely to un-clip from the hanger during a fall… I call the style you have the set up the 90’s style because that’s how everyone did it in the 90’s when I started LOL. If you ever visit the Northeast (North Conway) drop a line!
Interesting! Thanks for reading and the advice! I took that photo a while ago, I wonder if they’re still set up like that… ๐ค๐ค๐ค
The site’s in need of a redesign soon, I’ll make sure there’s a more visible contact page!
Hi
Thank you so much for visiting my blog and liking a few posts. Sorry it has taken so long to come and visit yours. Hope you come back again soon

Hello, Thisisyouth, your blog site and about me page is inspirational. I’m retired and recently returned to SWFL after 6-months on the road traveling in my little RV across the US.
I’m a nomadic writer of my travel experiences and I have returned to the warmth of SWFL. My plan is to backpack across the US, then the rest of the world. I will follow you travel and I look forward to your blog post. ๐
Hey Daniel,
You stopped by and “liked” something of mine about a month ago – thank you. I am just now taking some time, in the midst of a real Nor’easter here in Maine today, to catch up. That’s the way to do it Daniel! Get out there and LIVE your life! You are a fellow after my own heart! After college, I moved to Colorado, then to Germany, then California, then to Chicago then to LA and now back to N. California. All for the quest of following my dreams and I’m still chasing them! Keep chasing and you will have many more stories to tell! I’ve written a few books about my dream chasing stories and one (Fire Girl) is being made into a screen play.. so you NEVER know where this crazy ride will take you! Keep on Dreaming and Writing Daniel! ๐
Good on You Daniel Kay! I often think of the good ole days of living the mountain life before Snow Boards were even invented and we were skiing on boards 200 cm as beginners. Imagine that! I love your writing. I’ve travelled Nepal, Bhutan and Tibet and look forward to reading more of your travels. I even rappelled through the special permit canyons of Zion without clue one. I had a herd of angels working overtime that week.
Hey! Thanks for stopping by my blog – I’m happy it gave me the opportunity to see yours as it looks brilliant!
I’m especially looking forward to reading up on the travel memoirs and existential works (my favourite kind of works, haha).

Daniel,
Thanks for stopping by my music blog. I hope you’ll come back often. I admire your adventurous spirit and love reading about your travels. Life is an awesome journey, the good the bad and the ugly and a change of pace/location can positively change perspective. Wish I could travel more. Looking forward to checking in often.
Thanks for your clicking on my blog. My granddaughter started at Univ. Colorado, Boulder this semester so looks like we are at the opposite ends of the age spectrum, but what the Hell. Yours, good title, my posts are mostly personal memoirs.
Hi thanks for liking my blogs. I admire ppl like you who live freely and go on adventures like these.
Have to say I like your working title!
Thanks for the like on my blog. I love your bold, courageous view of life–living full out, full on, eyes wide open. Keep it up, my friend.
It’s good to find another person from Colorado! My snowboarding adventures really kicked off in Crested Butte and Monarch. Can’t say I’ve ever ridden the slopes in Vail but the area’s beautiful.
Best of luck in your writing endeavors. =)
Dear Daniel,
Thanks for reading my posts. I find travel to be the essence of experience and exploration in life. Keep up the good work. You have a great cover picture by the way.
Kind regards,
Shashank

Thanks for stopping by my site. I loved the travel pictures. I do my traveling via the internet. I do have a dream of one day riding in an hot air balloon while writing my novel. For now it’s short stories and living in LA (Lower Alabama)
Hi Daniel Kay! Thanks for liking some of my recent blog posts; it’s so nice to know someone out there is reading. ๐ I’ve only read a few of your posts so far, but I’m looking forward to reading more. Your posts are well written, easy to follow…a fun, and sometimes suspenseful, read!
Yes, as per most of the previous replies, I’ve enjoyed catching up with your stories and am actually very impressed with your self description – I love that apparently ‘odd mix’ of interests and passions and it is so wonderful that through this medium we are able to dip into any/all of them. And then rather than having boxes of written journals kept in boxes in the garage (as I do, the last 36 years of musings) we get to keep them in a vaguely searchable and organised fashion. I also like that bits appeal to all sorts of people and it’s easy to skip through the bits that don’t. Thanks for following/liking my work too (my play? my musings…) and look forward to catching up on more of yours.
Cheers.

Hey Daniel! I’m also a writer, also from Colorado, and also on a perpetual quest to lead an interesting life. Pleased to meet you ๐

Thanks for liking my latest blog post. If you browse around my blog you will find a day by day commentary on my trekking in Nepal with an all-woman team – a different perspective!
Reading a few posts takes me back to my younger days. You have a good, easy style and definitely lots to share. Great blog!
Looks like you are well on your way to living an interesting life. You have done far, far, far more than most people three times your age. Glad to see you are not taking life for granted. You’ll have so much to write about. Congrats!
Thanks for your ‘like’ of my Amazing Costa Rica blog post, Daniel. Very much enjoyed your site. Best of luck in your writing career!
Wow, what a great idea to write about your travel memoir. Keep me posted of your book. We travel quite a bit, but I am still trying to do an inventory of my travels and put them together. Thank you for visiting my blog twice.
Hi, I see we are both on quests :). I’m still setting up my page. I was wondering if you would be interested in reviewing my Dad’s book. It’s his first novel and I really want to continue sharing it with the world even though he has done a few signings. Let me know if you’re interested. Thanks – Britney

Fascinating material in your blog. A most interesting read.
Thanks for the visit
Thanks for following my blog. Yours is really interesting – sounds like you get up to lots of amazing adventures!
Great blog, just followed. I am from India and just moved to the US. Both the countries have so much to offer in terms of travel, it is just mind blowing.
Thanks for liking my blog post “We Glorious Bastards.” I envy you. Young, healthy, energetic, and talented. Don’t ever deviate from trying to lead an interesting life!
Thanks for the kind words Peter! They mean a lot.
Thanks for checking out my post. Just got into the game so its a work in progress. Your blog seems really interesting. Will give it a good look soon.
Hi Daniel,
I’m a journalist by profession & I’ve written for major media outlets. I’m creating an infographic (related to travel) with the help of designer and I would like to co-produce the infographic with your blog (thisisyouth.org), Would you be interested in partnering with me on this?, there is no fees involved in this.
After publishing the infographic, I’ll do promotion in different news outlets and press release sites, so both sites will get benefit with this.
Let me know if you’re interested, so that we can discuss further.
Thank you
Jose Gonzalez
I am glad to have found your blog! I just started following the digital nomads tag on WP. I can’t wait to read more about your stories! ๐
Thanks for the follow! Great photos. And your reading list intrigues me.
Thanks! I try to be a balanced person, although I haven’t been reading much lately. I’m reading a book on Pantheism, and then Friedman’s The World is Flat next. You know what, you’ve motivated me to pick em back up; look for reviews soon!
I like your blog. Thanks for reading mine. I will be in Beaver Creek in Feb with my wife but no bud smoking for me. Your article on your state’s new income source was very well written and informative. I am not a partaker but it was a very interesting resource for those who are.
Thanks Pat, glad you enjoyed the writing! Have fun on your trip to Beaver Creek, it’s an incredible resort. Beaver Creek will be hosting the 2015 FIS Alpine World Cup this year between Feb. 2 and Feb. 15, which is kind of the Super Bowl of skiing. Hopefully your trip falls in that window, because it’s shaping up to be a huge event. U.S. hasn’t hosted since Vail had it back in ’99!
We will be there the week after. But that is ok. We like Vail and Beaver Creek You are fortunate to live there.
